Miller - Amy Morrison Fine Art Photography

amfa-photography

Amy Morrison is an artist living in Boyds, Maryland, whose primary tool is a camera. She prints primarily on stretched canvas. She also selects print surfaces such as wood, slate, acrylic, glass, metal, fabric and paper when appropriate given the unique characteristics of each piece. She favors natural lighting and photographic, processing and printing methods that produce painting-like images, often with a discernable “grainy” look common in the days of film. Many of her creations have an impressionist feel and many are abstract. She enjoys exploration of the many ways digital software can be used to enhance an image to more fully express artistic vision. Her body of work largely comprises nature scenes from within Maryland, primarily from Montgomery, Howard and Carroll counties. Amy's work was offered for sale at Artomatic@Frederick (115 East Church Street, Room 6, Bottom Floor), through June 10, 2016. Her work is currently for sale at Knit Locally, in Boyds, Maryland. She has exhibited in VOLT restaurant in Frederick, Maryland, and Kingsview Village Starbucks in Germantown, Maryland, and in other private and public events in the Washington/Maryland/Virginia area. She also does pet and people photography, specializing in natural-light, environmental portraiture.
